Why Did TeamLease Exit Crystal HR?
TeamLease management indicated that the decision was part of its portfolio rationalisation and capital allocation strategy. During its Q1 FY27 earnings call, the company said it was seeking to rationalise its portfolio in view of management bandwidth and capital allocation priorities within HR services.
Crystal HR’s financial impact on the consolidated business of TeamLease was also small. As per the company’s declaration, Crystal HR’s contribution was zero turnover and Rs. 0.95 crore in net worth, which is equal to approximately 0.7% of TeamLease’s consolidated net worth, in the previous financial year.
As such, the closure of this exit deal will reduce the company’s joint venture exposure by a small amount and fetch the company Rs. 10.12 crore in cash consideration.
Financial performance

Investor Perspective
The conclusion of Crystal HR deal marks the end of TeamLease’s 30% joint venture stake in the company. Since the entire 1,200 shares have been acquired by TeamLease and extinguished, there is no equity stake held by the company in Crystal HR anymore.
As far as the investor concerns, what should be noted is the fact that the deal is relatively small compared to the scale of TeamLease’s operations and, more importantly, the fact that the company claims that the move fits into its strategy of portfolio rationalization. The cash consideration worth Rs. 10.12 crore will now be available for TeamLease according to its capital allocation strategy.
