India’s building materials industry has been witnessing steady demand from residential construction, commercial projects, renovation and premium housing. Within the sector, ceramic and vitrified tiles have become an important part of the organised building materials market, supported by rising demand for better designs, larger formats and premium finishes.
IPO Structure and Key Details
Varmora Granito Limited opened its initial public offering for subscription on September 22, 2026. The closing date for the issue will be September 24, with plans to list shares on NSE and BSE. The expected date of listing is September 29, 2026.
The price range of IPO is Rs.140 to Rs.148 per equity share with a minimum lot size of 101 shares. At the maximum price range, the minimum investment required from retail investors is Rs.14,948.
Importantly, the total size of the issue is Rs.708.02 crore instead of Rs.1,096.04 crore. The issue has a component of a new issue of Rs.320 crore and an offer for sale of Rs.388.02 crore by current shareholders. The company had originally come out with a bigger size but has reduced the size of the offer for sale subsequently.
Use of Fresh Issue Proceeds
The company plans to use the majority of the money raised through the fresh issue towards repayment or prepayment of borrowings. The remaining funds are intended for general corporate purposes.
Debt repayment can reduce the company’s outstanding borrowing burden and may also lower interest costs over time. However, the actual benefit to profitability will depend on the amount of debt repaid, borrowing costs and the company’s future operating performance.
Since the OFS portion involves existing shareholders selling their shares, those proceeds will go to the selling shareholder rather than directly to the company. Therefore, the fresh issue is the portion that provides new capital to the business.
Business and Product Portfolio
The company manufactures and distributes ceramic and vitrified tiles, bathroom products and glue. The company’s product line includes glazed glass tiles, polished glass tiles, ceramic tiles and high-tech products.
The bulk of the company’s operations come from glazed vitrified tiles and technical products. These products account for approximately 74% of revenues from operations in FY26. As a result, the performance of the company is closely linked to the levels of demand for the premium vitrified tile segment.
The company has also set up a large distribution network in India through exclusive branded outlets and multi-brand chains. The products are available for sale through both business-to-business as well as business-to-consumer channels. The company also has a sizeable presence in the international space with exports accounting for about 20% of its sales.
Varmora operates manufacturing facilities in the Morbi cluster of Gujarat, one of India’s major ceramic manufacturing hubs. Its manufacturing capabilities are supported by a broad product portfolio covering thousands of tile designs and multiple surface finishes.
Industry Position and Key Risks
The company operates in a competitive market where demand is influenced by housing construction, real estate activity, renovation and consumer preference for premium products. Its focus on glazed vitrified and technical products provides exposure to a segment that has been growing faster than the broader tile market.
At the same time, the business remains exposed to raw material costs, energy prices, export demand, foreign exchange movements and competition. Its dependence on vitrified and technical products also means any slowdown in this category could affect revenue and capacity utilisation. Export operations can additionally be affected by international trade restrictions, freight costs and geopolitical developments.
What Comes Next
The IPO will remain open until September 24, 2026, followed by the allotment process. Shares are expected to be credited to successful allottees before the proposed September 29 listing on the NSE and BSE.
The company’s immediate focus after the issue will be on deploying the fresh capital towards debt reduction while continuing to expand its tile and bathware business. Investors will also track demand for the IPO, post-listing performance, debt levels and the company’s ability to maintain growth in domestic and international markets.
