This Micro-Cap Stock, engaged in trading agricultural commodities, edible oils, food products, and allied goods, following its transition from traditional textile manufacturing activities, jumped 9.23 percent after the company board of directors approved a share split of 1:10.

With a market capitalization of Rs. 228.57 crores, the share of Jattashankar Industries Limited has reached an intraday high of Rs. 568 per equity share, rising nearly 9.23 percent from its previous day’s close price of Rs. 520. Since then, the stock has retreated and is currently trading at Rs. 521 per equity share.

Reason Behind the Surge

Jattashankar Industries Limited’s Board of Directors has approved a 10-for-1 stock split, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals. Under this split, each existing equity share with a face value of Rs. 10 will be divided into 10 equity shares of Rs. 1 each. This will increase the number of shares held by shareholders, while the overall value of their investment will remain unchanged immediately after the split.

The record date for determining which shareholders will be eligible for the stock split has not yet been announced. The company will decide the record date separately and inform the stock exchanges in due course.

For example, if a shareholder owns 1,000 shares valued at Rs. 10 each in Jattashankar Industries Limited, after the 1:10 stock split, their total holding will increase to 10,000 shares with a face value of Re. 1 each. The value of the holding will remain unchanged.
